Emerson are a four piece indie rock group based in Farnham, Surrey. The band formed as a result of main songwriter and lead vocalist, George Atkin and lead guitarist, Alex Groom finding themselves at loose ends in the wake of post-graduation hometown living.

Having played music together for years but never in the same group, Atkin and Groom were compelled to put some songs together for a local open mic night. Due to some instant and strong encouragement to form a group, the two gathered a pair of friends for a rhythm section, and Emerson was born.

The group spent roughly a year curating songs and rustling up short sets to play at a smattering of gigs locally. During the six months that ensued, bassist Will Lynch (a friend of Atkin’s from college) and drummer Max Collings were employed to replace the rhythm section. This line-up is how Emerson greets you as they exist today.

Emerson have spent the recent months writing and polishing their live sound, whilst also spending some time in the studio – experimenting with different approaches to recording, and working in a range of studio spaces with several producers including Patrick Hannan (The Sundays) and George Apison (The Cranberries, Sundara Karma).

Their highly anticipated single “My Eyes Only” is set to release on all major streaming platforms on July 18th. ♫♪♪
