Ida Wenøe (Denmark / Songcrafter Music (DK) & Integrity Records (UK)) and Samantha Whates (UK / Rough Trade Records & Wonderfulsound) are back on the road in June 2024, looking for UK shows. Following a Danish tour in February the pair are looking to continue where they left off touring the UK in March 2022.

2021 Danish Music Awards winner Ida Wenøe has an obvious appreciation of Americana but her own brand of Nordic-noir is laced with English folk undertones. After three critically acclaimed albums with respected indie labels Songcrafter Music (DK) and Integrity Records (UK), Ida has enjoyed support on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 4, Amazing Radio, BBC Wales, BBC Cambridge, BBC Suffolk, BBC Shropshire, BBC Radio Ulster & KEXP.

Wenøe released her third solo album “Undersea” in October 2023 and presents the songs from the new album live in England in a series of double headliner shows with Scottish born artist Samantha Whates, who is also a part of Ida’s new band “The Wondrous Sea”.

Scottish singer-songwriter Samantha Whates is a hugely respected figure on the folk & roots scene and has enjoyed both critical acclaim and extensive radio play on the likes of BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2, BBC Scotland & KCRW, both for her solo releases and as part of PicaPica (Rough Trade Records). Whates has just released her new EP Early Works, a self produced and recorded prequel to the music she subsequently made!

Wenøe & Whates forged a musical bond some years ago whilst attending a Chris Difford song writing retreat and were reunited 2 years later whilst attending Folk Alliance in Kansas City where they had both been selected as official showcasing artists. Though touring as separate co-headliners, the pair regularly collaborated and joined each other on stage to perform new arrangements for each other’s favourite songs and this in ‘Turn’ turned into a now fully collaborative set and releasing an EP together in 2022.
