We’re all about loud guitars, big hooks, and songs everyone knows the words to. A 90s/00s rock covers band playing the best of Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, Muse, and many more, we bring the nostalgia and High-energy, crowd-pleasing anthems to get people singing, jumping, and reliving the golden era of guitar music.

+ Flaxen Hill

Flaxen Hill have been performing their eclectic mix of indie covers to audiences near, far and wide for over 12 years. Numerous pub gigs, music festival appearances and a regular Friday night residency for the past eight years at the hugely successful Queens Head Beer Festival, have helped to attract a regular and committed following.

A blend of 12-string acoustic, violin, mandolin, electric guitar, bass and drums creates an individual sound and this, combined with charismatic lead singer Tom’s committed vocal, brings an added edge to a largely indie inspired repertoire.

Familiar songs by The Cure, REM, Pulp, The Stone Roses, Radiohead, Duran Duran, Talking Heads and many others take on a different texture and, with some meandering in unexpected directions, a surprise is never far away.

Flaxen Hill gigs are multi paced, juggling light and shade before building to an energetic crescendo. Flaxen Hill have played The Railway before, having supported local favourites The Mod Cons some years ago. It would be great to play there again in front of our usually enthusiastic audience

+ Never The Twain

NEVER THE TWAIN are a musical duo playing original songs and occasional covers drawing on American and British folk and roots traditions. Singer-songwriter-guitarist Stevie Simkin cites classic artists such as Petty, Springsteen and John Prine as key influences, as well as more recent ‘Americana’ exponents such as Jeffrey Foucault and Phosphorescent.

The current iteration of the band features Stevie (guitar, vocal) and Dan Conroy of Flaxen Hill and The Mod Cons (violin).
