Bursting onto the scene with a genre churning post-hardcore style, that proudly embraces its metal influences as much as its punk heritage; Ruled By Raptors emerged fully-formed in the last quarter of 2018 from the economically recovering mining towns of South East Northumberland. Carving out a reputation for high- octane live performances in their home city of Newcastle, whilst balancing progressive elements, high octane riffs and a mix of powerful melodic and fry vocals.
Since 2019 they have toured along the way with acts such as MC Lars (as both backing band and support), Koo Koo Kanga Roo, Lasertheboy, Schaffer The Darklord, Mega Ran and more, whilst also featuring on regional and national radio stations including a 6 week rotation on Kerrang! Radio and multiple plays on BBC Introducing.
At the end of 2019, the band entered the studio to record follow up EP ‘Silent Sound‘, produced by legendary producer Romesh Dodangoda (Nova Twins, Funeral For A Friend, Bring Me The Horizon) at his Wales based Longwave Studios. Due to the pandemic the release was shelved during the enforced hiatus as the UK was in the grips of Covid-19, rearing their heads only to self-record and self-release the two track Christmas EP ‘Now That’s What I Call A Sh*t Year‘ at the end of 2020. Silent Sound was eventually released to much fanfare in the Summer of 2022 with the likes of Alex Baker of Kerrang! Radio amongst supporters of the EP. The year also saw them appear at Slam Dunk Festival 2022 alongside
MC Lars performing the festival as his backing band, following in the footsteps of bands such as Failsafe, Wheatus, Bowling For Soup, Simple Plan, The Matches and members of Zebrahead in performing alongside the legendary Nerdcore Rapper. ♫♪♪
Supporting on the night will be
King Botfly
Formed in the dimly lit basements of a forgotten naval city, King Botfly (All) Hail from Portsmouth England. They bring the power of stoner rock and the crushing weight of doom coated in psych, to create a sonic journey through cosmic realms of distortion and despair. ♫♪♪
Dead Man’s Pistol
Dead Man’s Pistol are an energetic and quirky heavy metal band who are not afraid of the dark. Stig Price fronts the band with his penetrative vocals that you not only hear, but feel with every fibre of your being. Oli Spring plays ferocious bass lines with a cavalier attitude. Whilst Matty Wylie and Johnny ‘The Joker’ Stilwell entertain the crowd with their catchy riffs and melodic guitar solos. Finally, Holly Seabrook keeps the band sounding incredible as she plays the drums with an intensity you will never forget!
End On End
