The first line to Post Office by Charles Bukowski is ‘It began as a mistake’. And appropriately, that’s how The Postmen began too. It was meant to be a bit of a laugh, a covers band of mid-life-crisis proportions. Then we began to take ourselves seriously, in a funny kind of way, & began writing our own songs. We found ourselves in a One Way Town, with Cain & Abel, somehow Justified, Come What May. And we’ve kept going ever since, with new uniforms, & new songs like our council estate anti-hero, Metal Fly, sometimes set against the seaside backdrop of The Elephant Rock. It’s what we call Chansons de Travail, or #brutalistarchitectureurbanfolk

Supporting them on the night will be

Scott Freeman & The Tokyo Sex Whales

Scott Freeman and the Tokyo Sex Whales are an indie rock originals band from Shepperton in the vein of early Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and The Strokes. The single ‘Let’s Go‘ from their third studio album ‘From Staines With Love’ was played on the BBC in 2018 in concurrence with their headline UK tour to promote the single. With a focus on writing catchy tunes with a quirky indie feel, the band have been entertaining audiences across the UK for the last ten years. ♫♪♪
